i would not like to be a businessman here
i would not like to be a man in general
they leave at 7 in the morning and find it an early day when they are able to get back home at 9
a normal night at 1 in the morning
say goodbye to the 8 hour sleep rule
compared to this dutch people should stop nagging about there burn-outs (but wait till it happens to me! ha!)

today i had a day free so i spend the day catching up sleep and rented some dvds
i am now officially addicted to Little Britain and now I am pushing my self to go my grandma house

when i was younger i had a hard time spending time with my grand mother
i am the only one she has left and i know she loves me dearly but with the japanese culture you do not show stuff like this, just like you will not see a couple making out or whatev
but now i understand it more and i can even have real conversations with her
she's quite cool actually, she's 92 and drinks like a pirate

we went to Ueno to see the expo about graphic design in the 20'
after i went to Harajuku with Stephanie and later Trod came (train guy), went to the BVLGARI cafe and acted snobbish while ordering expensive drinks (we both found out that we have a natural talent for being snobs)

After work Trond came to Harajuku and we sat in the biggest park of Tokyo with bad white wine and observed people
we saw a lot of beautiful japanese women with fat americans walking, probably just to be with a foreigner or maybe i am so shallow that i did not see the love sparkling around them
we saw a man completely dressed in black jogging although it was 36 C and this other dude tanning while walking with only wearing a speedo which was too small for him with "guard" on his ass
proves how mad japanese people are
I did not see a lot of harajuku dress up girls like normally in the park, i think people are fed up with it, it was new and hot in the 90's but now we know how a real life manga girl looks like
then it was time to go home and eat sushi

Yesterday i had to make up a dramatic event in my life, for this video for a commorical in Taiwan my agency had to send
and it was so easy, maybe i will do it more often to get attention but i don't wan to steal the spotlight of some people i know who do this too ;)
and i had to fit shoes which were 2,5 cm too small and i told them that i didnt know they made shoes so comfy, my agency laughed and said that i looked like my 92 year old grandma who was jogging

I will start with something boring, the weather, its 35 C
the weather here in japan is not like in holland when its hot you can sit outside with a drink
no, when its hot here your clothes stick on your body like a stalker and it takes some time to get used to it
and thats the way it is now

for the first time i have been in Daikanyama, for work
with the same girl as last year for a pretty nice magazine, Gadeigaho
but it has such a good vibe, no big department stores which is a big part of the city mostly but more like in europe
little stores, arty vibe and just relaxed, much better then shopping in Harajuku, Shibuya or Shinjuku in Tokyo
found this little record store with some great music
So a tip if you want to shop in Tokyo although its very expensive there but its worth it

I love the way people treat you in shops, when you ask for something they run away to get what you need and cloths are fold up gently, in holland they throw your stuff in the bad like it's trash

When i came back by train since quite a long time i saw people being pushed into the train, something most people ask me about japan, if on japanese train stations there are special pushermen
everybody needs a pusherman in there lives sometimes to get you over the hard parts and to get you home

there are 2 things i miss from holland here, flirting on the streets and sarcasm
in japanese i wouldn't even know how to be sarcastic and if i try people run off to look for someone sane
in the japanese culture it is rude to look someone random in the eyes, which means you are missing your everyday doses of ego boost
so Trond from Norway was quite surprised when i started talking to him at the Fujisawa station
I just saw a way to blond person to be japanese
He is here for "research" which means he gets payed to party in Tokyo for 3 months and has to hand in some kind of essay when he goes back

The japanese models here are scary skinny, we have them too in holland but not as much
the girls i worked with last week looked like they were made out of porcelain and there hips were so small that i could give birth to them
i was seriously wondering if they expected me to be as thin or confused me with some other girl
but the thing was that they had not a very special face and this fits with Stephanie's theory
She told me that she heard a japanese model saying during an audition "i hate half models (half japanese) they steal all our jobs"
so probably the full japanese ones have to be skinnier, something most half models aren't
rather be fat like an american with a nice face who has the spare ribs delivery on speed dial then a skeleton who has the facial expression of a pig

i am here now for 3 days and i feel at home like i always do at the fam Mogami
although i have a headache and look like a warmed up corps
after 30 hours traveling to japan (of which 7 waiting in a airport in Denmark) i had to work the next day, to Tokyo by train for 1,5 hour for the japanese ellegirl
and thats what i did everyday since i came here, wake up 6 oclock in the morning and get back at 11 in the evening
but i feel alive, i get to know Tokyo more and more and japanese people are fun to work with (mostly)
in spite of having fun with working its hard to learn how to be polite
in japanese there is a whole different language of business people you have to learn, although as a model in japan they ask you politely if want to do this or this and not like in holland where they can put you naked in front of everybody without asking them selfs hmm maybe she is not 100% comfortable

sometimes I have a hard time relativize to say, hey light up (a cigaret)
but you should not over do it, when you break your leg you have every right to be pissed and not to say oh well glad that i have health insurance in the United States of BlaBla they miss out on this amazing system
you should find a balance although i do not know anyone i can come up with right this moment who has found his balance between optimistic and pessimistic

i am glad that i made some friends my own age to hang out with
the girls from my agency are great, relaxed and their english is perfect (50% is 50% american)
we are going out in Tokyo friday, can[t imagine how the night life in Tokyo is
when all the politeness, pink fuzzy animals and 90 year olds disappear and .. well yes, what instead of all that?

Keiko is going to have a son! (dont care if you dont know who it is)
i remember Kuni saying very wisely (for his age) that he has a 6th sense for stuff like this and was never wrong
he assured me it was going to be a girl
i am excited to see the almost new baby in town, sana and leo grow up and watch and fantasize about what kind of people they are going to be

i will watch with anticipation a very old bloke told me once

its funny that when you get a little bit older (just a little bit) you can see people really growing up, recognize things and laugh about it
first it was the other way around

i do still think about holland, some stuff are still in my head which refuse to leave
i dont regret what i did, i only fear what others, friends, will think and say but i do not feel differently about the situation
just need a fresh start, and i know i will get it

i have to work a lot this week so guess it`s better to catch some sleep now

Yesterday i bought a macbook pro
with a lot of things objects and situations look great at night but you do not know what you were thinking when you see it daylight
like spots on your face, the skirt you thought was quite cute but turned out to be trashy and guys
but my dear apple is not like that, he is still as juicy, perfect and looks like he is smiling although he has no face

ow and he is also very good company, he talks to me and i can do the same thing and in contradiction to others he can remember every word i said because he is smart enough to record our conversation

I haven' posted on live journal in almost a year 
a lot has changed!
I just finished school, the international school in Oegestgeest
I thought I would go crazy (in a positive way) when I was finally done with school and never have to go back
but the wird thing is, I really don't care 
probably because I always felt like "what am i doing here? " that my mind was already set for the future, a new life without high school

Time can not go by fast enough right now 
after i was done with school (1,5 weeks ago) i slept max 4 hours each night and still full of energy
I am very curious what the art school will bring me and how my life is going to change in amsterdam 

I think I have'nt been so happy in a long time when i heard that i was accepted at the art academy, the tears are still on the letter (which is not out of the ordinary, i cry a lot, wussss)
probably because art is the only thing i am a little bit good at and if i was rejected now i would never have the guts to try it ever again 

i am afraid that i am going to fail 
i already know too many people who are more talented than me 
but on the bright side i can always work at the Albert Hein (dutch supermarket if you did'nt know for the luckey ones who do not live in shitty-weather-holland)
we will see how it goes

I am now packing to go to japan, leaving on friday (its now tuesday) 
it will be a flight of hell! (and cheap.. yesyes)
first going to dusseldorf by car, from there by plane to stockholm and from there to tokyo
ow and i have to take a 3hour train from there 

someone should hit me in the face right now, i am complaining too much
im going to tokyo!!! (that's better d't you think?) 

but before i go on friday it's my graduation
i can't wait for the cliche pictures with me holding my diploma and my dad next to me

 was walking through the streets of Haarlem, Holland with a friend
and there was this very creative dude, I guess a 9 year old boy
he was walking on his own in a self made box suit
it was pretty cool so I had to make a pic of him
and also a pic of my friend and him, I mean, come on, he is a true celeberty now

 


still waiting for AnAn and 3 testshoots but this was the best shoot I guess from Japan

it was so mutch fun! I was jumping around like a littel kid, partly because the stylist (Xaviera), photographer and make up artist (Eva Copper) were littel kids too :) 
great time, reaaally cool clothes and they made extencions, loong black hair
so it was pretty cool 
the other model was already 18 but kind of dull, though

i'm thinking about making my hair black, instead of brown
gives it a littel edge, don't you think?

I only have 2 weeks left here! It has gone so fast!

I`m booked on the 3th of august for an Korean fashion magazine. apparently they work a lot here with the rest of azia (let`s say Korea than) 

For the rest I have a bunch of options for jobs, but lets not cheer too soon (is this only an dutch expression?) but tomorrow im going with the plane to the country side of japan, it`s so beautiful there

I also have a friend who I know sinds I was 3 years old (cute hu?) and every year we do something fun and it always feels like nothings changed and she is still my best friend, think I just need that littel bit of friendship now I have to go back for anothor year to that terrible school (it`s more the people, actually) 

but we did`nt dicide if we want to go to Disneyland orrr Disneyland Sea hihi, will be a LOT of fun

ben zoooo blij! voor blad AnAn, echt een groot blad, ik voel me zeer vereerd.

vandaag had ik een testshoot, mijn boeker Kazu ging mee (god zij dank, hopeloos in het vinden van de weg en trein) hele aardige mensen, leuke kleren, make up heel licht en wenkbrouwen omhoog met gel haha stond wel schattig het werken hier is wel heel anders dan in Nl en de aanwijzingen vind ik moeilijk op te volgen zo snel omdat mensen moeilijke termen gebruiken voor hoe je bv je schouwders moet draaien, dat moet ik nog wel leren, ik ben wel blij want nu ben ik tenminste voorbereid voor Mini en Anan

morgen lunchen met oma (heb haar te weinig gezien) en dan weer door naar tokyo voor een casting met andere modellen voor een groot merk Uniquro, zegt jullie waarschijnlijk niks maar het zit tussen de H&M en HEMA in

aller eerst, ik ben een dag terug uit Kyoto
wat een prachtige stad!
de hele oudheid en geschiedenis zie je daar terug 
naar veel tempels en mooie zen tuinen geweest
het is trouwens erg ver van waar ik nu zit, 4 uur met de trein

ik had vandaag een fitting voor MINI 
mijn schoenmaat is dus 41 en alle schoenen waren 39!
ik was er echt niet in te krijgen zoo frustrerend!
toen ze zeiden dat ze de schoenen maar moesten opensnijden dacht ik dat ze een grapje maakten
maar niet dus
hop een stenly mes in de hiel! 
:O :O 
zulke mooie en dure schoenen! ik voelde me echt erg 

ik sta nog in optie voor VOCE (beuty pics) en AnAn
anan is echt een groot blad, soort ELLE dus dat zou gaaf zijn!
het is 80 % zeker dat ik er voor ben geboekt maaaaaaar
ze vinden mijn schoenmaat een probleem, dus zijn ze nog aan het discusseren 
waarschijnlijk wordt het dan alleen een serie met jasjes 
wat een kut probleem! in NL is maat 41 toch vrij normaal?
nou hiet hebben ze max maat 39!
het klinkt heel stom dat ik me nu druk zit te maken over schoenmaten maar zo klein is mijn wereld even 

vandaag nog 4 castings hedaan (nu bijelkaar 20!)
morgen een testshoot, boeker Kazu gaat mee (ik ben nog steeds aan het denken of hij nou gay is of niet)
dan een dagje vrij dus lunchen en heel hard en langaam praten met lieve oma 
en overover morgen shoot voor mini met kapotteschoentjes!  

ik werdt trouwens gister nacht letterlijk wakker geschud 
een aardbeving! sinds een lange tijd 
een vrij heftige en een lange
ik was nog al geshokt maar het heeft voor de rest geen schade aangericht, deze week wel doden door aardvingen 
brrrr


nu snel slapen want het is al 1 uur en ik moet morgen vroeg op naar tokyo (een uur in de trein zonder te kunnen zitten door de drukte!)

Hey!

Today I had 8 castings, again!
especially for fashion magazines 
and I already have a job!  it`s only my 3th day here!
for a magazine called MINI

it`s for the 20th of July 

and like I said in my first blog I also did a casting for the korean LG mobile 
and I`m in the selection!!!!!! and it will be Australia!!!!!!!! how coooooooooooooooool is that! don`t tell me, I already know how cool!
but it`s a small chance beceause Japan and Korea are soo big = a lot of competition 
but it`s great to fantasise about it

Tomorrow i`m going for 4 days with sweet Keiko and Sana to Kyoto
they say it`s beautiful so can`t wait to see! 

The 18 (or 19th) I have to go back for a visa so when I get picked for LG i can work in Australia
The 19th I have a testshoot for my book, it will be a crazy month!

but i`m ofcours here for my grandmother
how is so sweet for me 
I won`t tell my livestory here (it`s still the Internet ;)
but I was sop scared that i had no chance or pupese to come back to japan if my grandmom would past away, she is my last Japanese family member
but the people I stay with now are so sweet and good friends with my grandmom, I know they will support me to come back, It is still a part of my blood
so I`m sooooo relieved and happy about that 

I`ts kind of soon but I already  discussed with my booker about coming to japan for a while after school 
that would be a such a great opportunity! I would be with my grandmother, live in Tokyo, work there and learn good Japanese! that would be just perfect 
My dad would miss me (I hope haha) but when my ganny is still alive I can be more with here and learn more about the culture 

It`s hard to imagin but I love to fantasize about it, we will see!

It was the first time for me to go with the train on my own from the airport
after 12 hours of on the airplane I still had to go 2 hours by train! 
the train system there is hell, in holland we have just 1 train company the NS but in Japan they have like 10 lines!! 
so you have to buy a different tickets and it`s always tricky how to know you can get to the athour line 
but I made it! 

after being welcomed by my grand mother (age 91) and my lovely friends (where I stay) we ate a loooot of sushi (L) 
the day after I went with Keiko and a jetlag to Tokyo to Be Natural Models 
very nice people!  
I had that day around 8 castings 
for a big company of cosmetics ads (like shisheido), photographers, beauty magazines, fashion magazines and also for a Korean commercial for LG phone 

it was so diffrend with the people in Holland when I did castings there! 
they where very  enthusiastic and they respond very good on my book 
I already discussed with Kazu (my booker) of coming to Tokyo for a while (a month is too short for a lot of assignments, but now they have promoted me already)  after school (that shoud be in June)
because my agency thinks that the Japanese modeling market is a good place for me 
we will see.. 

today (day 3 of my stay in Japan) im going to Tokyo again for castings like yesterday 
and tomorrow Im going to Kyoto with Keiko and her litter very very sweet daughter Sana 
must be beautiful!! 
I will post some pic`s of that when I come back

met Anouk Morgan (weer! yay!), een stylist en een mau 
de kleren waren helemaal over the top uit, echt zoo grappig 
5 :0 verschillende outfits en kleren, allemaal super verschillen maar wel met het thema Harajuku-girl 
omdat we geen auto hadden moesten of lopen of met tram en ik werd heel erg aangestaard 
en er werk ook vaak geroepen "he Barbie" "Sexy hoor" "hooooi" 
ik had wel wat meer gevats van de medemens verwacht

Donna models thought it was a better idea to work for Be natural Models in tokyo
Donna is very good with european models (blond, white) and BNM is a very good agency for japanese, half-japanese models
I think this is soo much better!

(my lengt is nog 1.76 but 1.78 but they did that because there are not a lot of long japanese models ;) 

I am sooo stressed! 
On monday i'm going to japan and i have soo mutch to do!

annnd i'm going to Kushuw (countryside of japan, so beautiful)

Ik had gister dus castings bij Peperoni 
van Donna models uit japan en Glamour uit praag
het was een groot voordeel dat ik al japans kan aangezien de booker een japanse is ;)
ik moest mijn loopje laten zien -yaaay! mijn catwalkles kwam toch nog van pas!- (werd door haar opgenomen) een rondje draaien en ze heeft wat foto's gemaakt en maten opgemeten 
dus nu is het plan dat ik voor een maand naar japan ga, zoiezo familie opzoeken en dan veeeeel castings ga doen 
ze vertelde me dat die echt van 5 uur s'ochtends tot 9 uur s'avonds waren aiii 
maar even wachten op de reacties....

maandag had ik een shoot door npmalina 
samen met  </a></font></b></a>hiukwan  van de agency de Boekers, een zeeeer springerig en lief meisje ;-) 
Roos van Panthera syling deed de styling en ze had zulke mooooooie kleren!! 
erg duur en hebberig makend
ik mag geen foto's posten omdat nicoline ze nog gaat proberen te publiceren op een site!
ik plaats wel even 2 foto's die niet bij de serie pasten
arme hiukwan moest nog 3 uur met de trein :O en ik was ook pas om half 1 s'nachts thuis, volgende dag naar school maar het was de moeite waard want de foto's zijn supppeeerr!! 

ik heb trouwens ook nog as gedronken 
van de cola van np die ze dus als asbak had gebruikt...
en later bij haar thuis kreeg ik ook nog een enorme bloed neus waarna Roos een tampon in mijn neus stopte! 
werkt erg goed trouwens

Ola!

Dit zijn de foto's die na de "pruiken-shoot" kwamen voor de  ontwerpster Amber Rose  (die ik dus geslagen had op haar neus....)

De pruiken foto's vond mn agency jammer genoeg niet goed genoeg voor mijn portfolio, make-up en haar vonden ze slordig en waarschijnlijk ook te extreem 
we hebben het snel gedaan, dat is waar maar toch vind ik het onzin! 
jammer,

Een nieuwtje uit Japan, Tokyo 
ik zou in de zomervakantie langs gaan bij een japans bureau Donna Models www.donnamodels.jp.co
maar.... (trommel geroffel) 

nu komt een booker zelf naar ons lage landje! 
ik hoop verschrikkelijk erg dat ze iets voor me kunnen vinden nu ik niet erg in trek ben in Nederland (die saaie boeren-kaaskoppen grrrrrrr) 
dus op naar Amsterdam op de 16e van april!
